fractures. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the hormonal changes during menopause can
put postmenopausal women at a greater risk for certain conditions, such as osteoporosis,
which causes weakening of the bones. The researchers said raised awareness of possible health risks
tied to menopause symptoms could help women prevent some health problems. Women who want to protect their bones should
avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, exercise and get sufficient calcium and vitamin
D.
